Magic in the Solar Plexus

Magic in the Solar Plexus

"My Will and Divine Will are One. I am connected to the abundant flow of the Universe and easily manifest my dreams."

The third chakra is our internal sun, the space where our souls shine bright, lighting up the world around us, the energy center of our personal power. This chakra is known as the Solar Plexus or Manipura in Sanskrit. Mani means "jewel or gem," and Pura means "dwelling place," so together, they mean "city of gems"—the brain of the body. It is a vast wheel or energy vortex that consumes the naval area, 7 cm above and below the belly button.

With the pure size of this chakra and its location in the naval, we can suspect that it watches over many organs and the digestive system. It is also responsible for the skin, breath, upper abdomen, diaphragm, the middle of the spine, small intestines, parts of the kidneys, and adrenals, particularly the adrenal cortex.

Due to the location of this chakra, we can experience many physical symptoms, including poor digestion, diabetes, pancreatitis, kidney, and adrenal imbalance, low blood pressure, certain colon diseases, stomach ulcers, food disorders like anorexia and bulimia, hepatitis, heartburn, hypoglycemia, chronic fatigue, muscular disorders, and "Leaky Gut." However, most people will experience at least one of these ailments. Furthermore, most people experience these ailments every day without understanding why thinking this is "normal."

However, when this chakra is out of balance, you can also experience mental, emotional, and spiritual ailments as well. You may find yourself depressed and not living in the now. Unable to shine your light bright. You may experience low self-esteem, low self-confidence, and unhappiness in your life situations. You can be unreliable, blame authority, act controlling over others or have dominating behavior. We may even become too sensitive to criticism and be critical of others. We can find ourselves sabotaging ourselves to be someone we aren't being manipulated or manipulating others. These symptoms are so different from the lower Root Chakra in that they now involve the world and people around us.

This chakra acts as the tip to our inner flame or fire, and you may notice that if your flame is not burning to its highest potential, there could be some lower chakra focus needed to brighten your inner light. Imagine the three lower physical chakras we have been talking about, the root, sacral and solar plexus. These three chakras create your inner flame—the red, orange, and yellow colors corresponding to each chakra, creating a fire within you. To have a bright fire within you, all three lower physical chakras must work together to create the flame. Another reason why it is best to start your healing focus work with the root chakra. Get your embers burning bright to fire up the remaining two.

On the other hand, when this chakra is spinning, open, aligned, and balanced, you can feel self-confident and have a healthy connection to your ego. You can digest food along with ideas and are comfortable in your personal power—beliefs and emotions. You develop a healthy relationship with the greater world, are mentally focused, have a healthy digestive system, and are in overall good health. Your energy level will become more dynamic, creating a healthy level of assertiveness, cooperation, mental focus, and productivity.

This chakra is best approached by connecting to yourself, who you truly are, and then reflecting this connection to the outer world. A lot of the time, we may experience living in the ego. We say we don't live here, but if we are not being true to ourselves and igniting this chakra, we are not displaying and showing the world our true authentic selves. When activated and aware, you become a forward thinker and step up to meet your goals working mindfully with a sense of value, helping you make and carry-out decisions.

These lower physical chakras are more about learning who we are, why we are the way we are, and then showing the world this image without trying to be something we are not. The light dims when we start to fake it or try to work against the grain of our born path. Working these lower chakras create a solid mind-body connection bringing overall success and allowing a deeper connection to the upper spiritual chakras.

I always say 1-2-3. We have such difficulty paying attention and working with these essential chakras. They display their out-of-balance tendencies in ways that make us blind to what is happening within. We can quickly get caught in the cycles moving farther away from our light. It is a process of unlearning, and it takes daily intentions and work to get there. We also find that if we do not do the work every day, just how easy it is to fall back into these repeating patterns and endless cycles.

Burn your light Bright.
