Stepping Into My Dragon Era: How Kambô Has Transformed My Spiritual Journey
Share
Over the past month, I’ve been deepening my work with Kambô, a sacred medicine that has been a powerful ally in my healing and spiritual journey. I recently completed nine days of microdosing Kambô, followed by an intentional break for integration. During those nine days, I felt called to focus on releasing old programs, outdated patterns, and beliefs that no longer serve me. It was intense, transformative work, but I trusted the process and gave myself space to integrate the medicine’s teachings.
In the days since my last session, I’ve noticed profound shifts—not just in how I feel but in how I show up in the world. My spiritual connection has become much stronger, and the words I’ve been choosing to share during sessions have felt more intentional and aligned. It’s as though the clarity I gained during those nine days created a direct line to something deeper—my intuition, my truth, and my purpose. The way I hold space has changed, and I feel more grounded, empowered, and present than ever before.
But this journey hasn’t been just about clearing old energy; it’s also been about observing patterns—both in myself and in the collective. One of the most revealing aspects has been recognizing how much of myself I used to water down, not just for others but because of an internalized need to keep the peace or avoid discomfort. I see it now more clearly than ever: people-pleasing, the tendency to adjust who we are to make others comfortable, is so deeply ingrained in many of us that we don’t even realize we’re doing it.
It might show up as someone expressing discomfort with your choices or asking you to adjust who you are to meet their expectations. Or maybe it’s a subtle energy—a feeling that you’re being asked to shift or shrink to make others more comfortable. Often, people have no awareness that they’re doing this. It’s not about malice but about soothing their own discomfort or avoiding their own triggers. Still, that unconscious expectation can be just as impactful, making it all the more important to stay rooted in your authenticity.
For too long, I lived that way—choosing to be “less” of myself to avoid conflict or to ensure harmony. But through my work with Kambô, I’ve begun shedding those layers. The medicine showed me that I no longer need to carry those outdated programs of self-sacrifice or fear of being “too much.” Those beliefs served a purpose once—they kept me safe, helped me navigate relationships, and allowed me to feel accepted. But they are no longer aligned with the person I am becoming.
In their place, something fierce and powerful has emerged. I’ve stepped into what I call my “dragon era.” This isn’t about anger or rebellion—it’s about embodying a deeper truth, a take-no-shit mindset rooted in self-respect, clarity, and boundaries. It’s a refusal to tolerate anything that asks me to betray myself. I’ve come to understand that true authenticity doesn’t require permission, and real alignment begins when we release the need to make ourselves smaller for others’ comfort.
Kambô has taught me that healing isn’t just about letting go—it’s about stepping into. It’s about reclaiming the parts of yourself that you’ve dimmed, ignored, or buried for the sake of others. During those nine days of microdosing, I sat with these patterns, acknowledged them, thanked them, and let them go. And in the days since, I’ve seen the medicine’s impact ripple out into my life. I feel lighter, freer, and more connected to my truth.
The collective energy right now feels ripe with this same lesson: so many of us are realizing the ways we’ve been watering ourselves down, adjusting our light to fit others’ expectations. But what if we stopped? What if we all stepped into our dragon eras, owning our truth with grace and power, unapologetically?
For me, Kambô has been the mirror and the guide, showing me where I was holding back and inviting me to step fully into who I am. This medicine doesn’t allow for half-truths or playing small—it asks you to show up fully, face yourself, and transform what no longer serves. And while it’s not an easy path, it’s one of the most rewarding I’ve ever walked.
Moving forward, I’m holding this energy with gratitude and intention. I’m no longer watering myself down, and I hope to inspire others to do the same. Whether through Kambô, another healing modality, or simply the decision to stop saying “yes” when you mean “no,” the path to empowerment begins with one simple truth: your light is meant to shine fully. Not dimmed, not filtered, not watered down—but fully and unapologetically.
